More on the Story of Bridget Cleary

On March 22nd 1895 in the small Tipperary village of Ballyvadlea, RIC constables discovered a badly burned body in a shallow grave. It was the body of Bridget Cleary, a 26-year old woman who had met her death because of the belief that she was a fairy changeling. Fairy Wife – The Burning of Bridget Cleary explores the events surrounding Bridget’s death and the massive impact it had on the country at that time.
